TITLE: Traditional Program Administrative Support Intern
SALARY: Volunteer (UNI Work Study may be available)
DATES: Revolving (Winter/Fall/Spring/Summer)
Minimum Qualifications:
Intern should be a current college student majoring in Business Administration,
Office Management, or other related field.
Skills and Abilities:
Intern will be required to pass the same personal background check as Big Brothers
and Big Sisters. Candidates must have strong communication and phone skills,
problem solving abilities and interpersonal skills. This person should be flexible,
reliable and have the ability to perform whatever is required to complete the
assigned tasks. Intern must comply with confidentiality policy at all times.
Internship Description:
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing and
supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships. Under direction of the Executive
Director this person will assist in the daily operations of the organization, including a
wide variety of duties. May require rare evening hours.
Primary Duties:
- Assist with administrative duties, including answering phones, photocopying
and bulk mailings.
- Complete intakes of both children and volunteers.
- Schedule appointments for Mentor Coordinators.
- Assist with data gathering and entry.
- Complete volunteer background screening and reference checks in a timely
manner.
- Contact schools and counseling services to complete child files.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Interns in this position will be required to work in a standard office environment and
come in direct contact with staff and the public. Casual business attire is expected.
