ABOUT OUR INTERIM CEO

Jody Hartz joined Big Brothers Big Sisters a year ago as vice president of operations, providing oversight for programming, staff, and satellite offices. Since August she has also filled in as interim CEO. Previously Jody worked for the Department of Human Services managing a child abuse treatment unit. Also in Black Hawk County, she served as executive director of Family and Children’s Council (child abuse prevention) and associate director of Operation Threshold (community action).

Always a champion of children and families, Jody was motivated to join the Big Brothers Big Sisters movement by the program success it has shown. She has focused on enhancing the agency’s infrastructure and the provision of quality services. Jody recently managed our program transition into Chickasaw County, directed our second workplace mentoring launch with Viking Pump and North Cedar Elementary in Cedar Falls, and supported staff performance to the first time the agency has passed the 400 mark for youth served since 2010.

Jody is excited by the new Big Brothers Big Sisters national brand message; “I am completely committed to this call for action that we ensure all young people achieve success in life, through defending and inspiring their potential to become possible.”
